- What few Americans are aware of is that the Arab World’s love for Western-branded fast food is seemingly bottomless.
- This is to the extent that in some high-end fast food restaurants, there is an offering of $40 hamburgers and French fries, with willing buyers.
- Even ubiquitous brands e.g. McDonald’s can sell their meals at 5 to 10% markups from their cost in the US.
- Along with the fast food, the Middle East has incorporated other Western influences, such as the development of shopping malls - where many fast food restaurants are situated.
- The Middle East has been in-fluxed by a number of niche restaurants, some of which are in the slideshow below;

- This past April, Pizza Hut decided to offer a deep pan pizza ringed by mini cheeseburgers.
- The “Crown Crust Pizza” did not sell in the US, but in Dubai. Such a fantasy food was sold only in the Middle East, to meet consumer thirst for American brands and tastes. - The exclusivity of the product to Dubai even brought some Americans to fly in just for the pizza! |
